George J. Reul, M.D. is a highly skilled, experienced, and respected Cardiovascular, Thoracic, and General Surgeon, consultant and medical educator. His areas of interest are cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgery.

Dr. Reul is the Associate Chief of Surgery at the Texas Heart Institute, Houston, Texas since 1983, and is Director of the Peripheral Vascular Laboratory, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital (SLEH), Houston, Texas since 1981. He is a Consultant in Cardiovascular Surgery since 1973 at SLEH and Texas Children's Hospital, Houston, Texas. He also served as Deputy Chief of Surgery, Ben Taub Hospital, Houston, Texas, from 1971 to 1973.

Dr. George J. Reul, M.D. is Clinical Professor at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, Department of Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery since 1987, having been Clinical Associate Professor from 1977 to 1987. He is also Clinical Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, Department of Surgery, since 1994, also having held prior appointments there as Assistant Professor from 1972 to July 1973 and Instructor from 1971 to 1972. Prior to that, he was Clinical Instructor at Marquette School of Medicine from 1963 to 1969. In 1985 he was Honorary Consulting Professor of Thoracic Surgery, Shanghai Second Medical College, Shanghai, China.

George J. Reul, M.D. received the Doctor of Medicine degree from Marquette School of Medicine, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1962 following a B.S. degree from Marquette University in 1958. He did his medical internship at the University of Chicago Clinics, Chicago, Illinois, July 1962 to June 1963. From July 1963 to March 1966 he did a General Surgery Residency at the Marquette School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals, and in 1966 received the Master of Science degree from Marquette School of Medicine. He served in the U.S. Army as Captain, first at the 93rd and 24th Evacuation Hospitals, Vietnam, from 1966 to 1967, and then at the Edgewood Arsenal doing Wound Ballistics Research from 1967 to 1968. He completed the General Surgery Residency at Marquette School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals from March 1968 to June 1969, and then a Thoracic Surgery Residency at Baylor College of Medicine from July 1969 to June 1971. He is licensed by the State of Texas (1971) and by the State of Wisconsin (1963). He is certified by the American Board of Vascular Surgery (1984), the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (1971), and the American Board of Surgery (1971).

Dr. Reul became a Fellow of the American Cancer Society in 1966. He also did Fellowship research at the Allen Bradley Research Laboratory from June 1965 to March 1966, the National Tobacco Institute from June to September 1969, and the National Institute of Health from June to September 1960.
